I downloaded Feed Demon at work yesterday, because I had heard about it on a couple of places on the web. I'm starting to like the interface, and in fact prefer it over SharpReader (which I was using previously) and the other newsreaders I have used on MacOS X, like Shrook and NetNewsWire Lite.
I like the fact that when I click on a news feed, it will display the entries in that feed, sorted by name, received date or published date, and grouped in days. So everything that has been published today appears under the 'Today' banner, which helps to separate those new entries from the older ones. It also displays snippets from the RSS feed below the title, and when you click on the entry, it takes you to the webpage, using the included web browser (IE). One thing I disliked about SharpReader was that I would click on a feed, and it would show the contents of the news feed only. I would then have to click it again to open the feed in IE or Firefox. It also managed to open the URL in the currently open tab in Firefox, replacing whatever page I was looking at! Maybe I missed a setting or something, but it was a major pain.
I like the concept of the 'Channel Groups' available in Feed Demon, but I would really like to have all the groups visible on one page, instead of having to go to a drop-down menu to change groups. I treat the groups more like folders: one contains blogs, another news, another technology feeds.
One thing I do like are the news bins, where I can drag a news item into. For instance, if I want to write a post on a news item later, I just drag it in there and look at it when I'm ready!
I've uploaded an image of the interface:
