Robert Scoble has added some of his comments to the preview of Tiger by Apple. He points to a post by David Winer at scripting.com with his opinions on the preview.
What's cool (which I didn't bother to look at before) is the RSS reader in Safari. There's a movie over at Apple. Very slick. I'll probably stick to using NewsFan or NetNewsWire or whatever my favourite newsread is at that stage.
Scoble also links to a blog entry by Tristan Louis, which adds a bit more detail to what I've seen.
There is coverage also at Slashdot of the new Tiger Server features. Of particular note is that you can setup an 'iChat AV Server' in Tiger Server, running the Jabber protocol. iChat AV clients (as well as other clients) can then login to the iChat AV Server, as well as other servers, simultaneously. I'm guessing Apple has enabled the AIM transport in this cause, but on the flipside, I wonder if they have added support for Jabber? Since iChat AV can handle multiple accounts, maybe that's on the cards… I'll still stick with Adium, though. ![]()
