“Smartcards for Public Transport”

Casey over at Caseyporn.com has a post on his wish for the Sydney public transport system: a smartcard ticketing system.

Got Foxtel Digital Today

We had Foxtel Digital installed today… Came home to find a shiny box next to the TV. There's hundreds of channels (not all active)… and the signal is perfect (our reception with an aerial before was pretty bad). The best thing about it? The full EPG! I can view the program guide by category or all channels, and can scroll through hours and days (haven't tested to see how far ahead it goes, yet). I can also request information about a particular program, which is cool. Now I have more TV channels available that I know what to do with!

My only request, add a PVR into the set-top box! I heard a rumour this was going to be added… I would love to be able to go into the EPG and ask for a certain show to be recorded.

Hopefully this doesn't change my TV habits TOO much. I don't watch that much right now (and will watch less during semester at Uni)…

Bloody Telstra…

I checked the post box today and found a wonderful letter from Telstra, kindly informing me that from the 1st June 2004, the line rental fee (for the plan I'm on) will increase from $23.50 to $26.95 per month.

Back From Brisbane

Got back from Brisbane this evening, after a pretty uneventful flight. I didn't have time to post anything (not that it's very interesting) the past couple of days, but here's a rundown of what we all did:

Brisbane - Day Two

We went walking in the CBD and around the city yesterday after a late start. Had a look at some of the shops, then we walked over to the West End and had a look around there. Not terribly interesting…

I came across a list of the 100 top grossing movies at NSLog, so here's my list. The ones in bold (there are 16 of them) are those I haven't seen.

Trip to Brisbane

Forgot to mention that I've gone up to Brisbane for a couple of days to spend some time with my parents. We flew up on Virgin Blue this afternoon, and I'll be coming back on Sunday. Hopefully I'll get a bit of sightseeing and shopping done while I'm here, and I plan on taking lots of photos. The view from my parents' apartment is great!

Kirk McPike on Tiger

Kirk McPike over at Mind The Gap has an interesting view on the preview of Tiger we were given at the WWDC. He says that "Tiger doesn't just look promising, it looks to be the most definitive Mac OS X release yet."

Spiderman 2

I saw Spiderman 2 last night at the movies… I liked it a lot, but the others with me thought it was pretty corny and over the top. Lucy deemed it a "moral a minute", and she's probably right in that respect. :) Every couple of scenes there was someone spouting off about an inner hero or doing what you want or what is for the good of man, etc, etc.
