Whoops…

I've been doing some research for my IT/Law paper at uni, and came across this page, which has the heading "My Little Corner Of The Web".

All I can say is… whoops! I can honestly say that before today, I had not seen that page on your site, Steve, so I didn't intentionally copy your title!

“Tramadol Attack”

Just saw over at PhotoMatt that Matt is being hit with the same spammer that I am… tramadol.

I've had about 7 comments over the past couple of hours, so not as bad as the 90 in 2 hours that Matt had, but still annoying. :)

At first it wasn't blocked by the Wordpress blacklist, but I added the following to the blacklist (under Options -> Discussion), and they now go into the moderation queue, where I can delete them:

Go wordpress!

[EDIT: Whoops. Fixed up spelling of title.]

OmniWeb 5.0

Erik over at NSLog has just posted his question of the day: "Did you buy OmniWeb 5.0? If not, will you?"

I'm starting to use OmniWeb more and more now. Mainly because I love the ad- and popup-blocking features, and it looks a whole lot better than the other browsers (IMO).

I have yet to buy it, though. I'll probably wait until 5.1 to buy it, because it crashes a lot for me, and periodically refuses to access any web pages, or loads them really, really slowly. It's also a lot slower than Camino, I've found. Other than that, it's great!

Hopefully the update to the new WebCore will fix this all up!

“Making the Jump to Subversion”

There's a good article over at MacDevCenter.com about setting up Subversion on MacOS X.

I had a lot of problems getting the permissions right when I setup the server for TLAF, and found this page useful as well.

“Young driver curfew: off the road by 10pm”

A friend sent me a link to an article in the Sydney Morning Herald, "Young driver curfew: off the road by 10pm". The article talks about plans to introduce a curfew for all drivers under the age of 21, so that they are not allowed on the road between 10pm and 6am, restrict the number of passengers to 1, and prevent drivers from driving cars that are "too powerful".

“Telstra, Hutchison to share 3G”

From Australian IT: Ben (my flatmate) told me today (and I found out from this article) that Telstra and Hutchison have signed an agreement to effectively 'share' the 3G network setup by Hutchison Whampoa (and used by Three).

My top freeware/shareware apps

I revisited the "Your top 5 (or so) freeware/shareware apps for OS X?" thread at MacNN tonight, and thought I would post my favourite freeware and shareware apps of the moment…

“Subversion in Finder”

Matt over at PhotoMatt has posted a link to a Finder plugin (?) that allows you to access Subversion commands from within the Finder in MacOS X.

iTMS & Real Redux

Over at DrunkenBlog there's a post on the Apple - Real situation, with a lot of insight into Apple's plans and why it is acting the way it is.

I especially like the comment about Apple developing an "iMovie Store" and how it wants to become THE DRM-content mediator in the future.

CityRail… You are the weakest link. Goodbye.

I must say, I've almost had it with CityRail, its timetable changes and its shenannigans (sp?). I left work at 5 on the dot today, so I could walk up to Pymble station in time for the 5:17 train. In previous days, I've gotten to the station after that, and have had the option of waiting another 20 minutes for a train that will go to Waverton (since the others express past Artarmon and Wollstonecraft and Waverton) or catch one of the trains, get off at St Leonards and wait for one to go to Waverton.
