I am so sick of CityRail…
It seems that once a week, the dastardly CityRail timetable demon rears its ugly head and "sharp, pointy teeef" to wreak havoc with the trains.
Tonight was one of those instances. I don't know how CityRail manages to fuck up the timetable so much, but where there's a will, there's a way.
I arrived at Pymble station shortly after 5.07, to find a number of people (obviously) waiting for a train, leading me to believe that the 5.07 never came. So, I waited for the 5.17 train…
and waited…
and waited…
and finally, at 5.23, the train came! Making up for lost time, it expressed from Gordon to Chatswood, and then stopped at Artarmon and St. Leonards. I knew it was going to express Wollstonecraft and Waverton, so got off at St. Leonards, thinking the next train would stop at my station.
I was wrong. I got to St. Leonards around 5.42. The next two trains (5.46 and 5.56) both expressed past Waverton, and the next train that actually went to Waverton was at 6.06 (an hour after I got to Pymble)! So I hopped on the next train to North Sydney, arrived at 5.53, and found out the next train to Waverton was in 15 minutes, at 6.08.
What did I end up doing? Walking home. AND I got home before the train would have even arrived at North Sydney.
