Jeremy’s Little Corner Of The Web…

I saw Team America: World Police tonight. Has to be one of the funniest movies I've seen this year. While Rory already has a very… thorough review of the film, I thought I might add my own thoughts.

Just watching the trailer, you might think that the movie is all about bagging out the US, but in fact, no one seems to be safe from the brunt of the jokes. It takes a couple of stabs prods with big sticks at not only the US. but the UN, Kim Jong-Il, Alec Baldwin, Mat Damon (Mat Daaaamon…), Michael Moore and others… and that's what I loved about it. In one fell swoop, it takes the piss out of the "war on terror", terrorism and a "culture of fear", but also the actors and the lefties that are opposed to it.

I also LOVED the songs… they made my day. Trey Parker (and Matt Stone) is one twisted person. Having Kim Jong-Il sing "I'm So Ronery" is just hilarious, as was "Everyone Has AIDS" and "America, Fuck Yeah". There was also a song at the very end of the credits, where Kim Jong-Il bags out Alec Baldwin for failing him… Golden. Mat alerted me to the fact that the album is also on the iTunes Music Store… Now, if only I could actually buy it! *cough* Apple get your act together *cough*

I highly recommend this movie… It's totally over the top, in your face humour, but I was laughing the whole way through!
