Matt Mullenweg has provided a plugin for WordPress that aims to block the spambots currently harassing lots and lots of WordPress blogs (mine included). Hopefully it'll work (although I haven't got any spam for the past day or two…).

Courtesy of Michael Heilemann, I found a patch for the xmlrpc.php file in WordPress 1.2 that allows for image uploading and other features when using ecto or MarsEdit. The post is here.
I installed a new plugin for WordPress today, called Kitten's Spam Words, which I found on Dougal Campbell's post on comment spamming.
The plugin allows me to delete particular comments and mark them as spam. Future comments with similar attributes are automatically added to the moderation queue, which is nice.
I also thought about using the Spammer Tar Pit or Kitten's Comment Pay, but thought it would be a bit harsh. That's not to say it wouldn't be fun, though.
