According to the article in The Hindu newspaper (link in the post), it was said by Chief Seattle, but I can't be sure, unfortunately!

I love the quote "We do not inherit the earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children." I am going to use it soon on a wall. Do you know for sure that Chief Seattle said it and that it is part of the "web" quote?

That has to be a hellish cataloging feat if the owners ever got around to doing that. That sounds really weird though, I wonder if they'll ever get to sell all of their stock.

Hi,

Just writing to agree with you that Computers Now in North Sydney are fantastic. Two weeks ago my less than 2 year old MacBook Pro died - it just wouldn't start. I went to an unnamed Apple repair centre (large chain) and was told it would take 8-10 days for a diagnosis. I explained to them that it's my work computer and is very much in use all the time, so I can't wait for 10 days. Their response was, "we have 80 - 100 computers in the back to be looked at and they're all work computers too". I just walked out of there completely irritated, partly because 8 - 10 days for a diagnosis is unacceptable, and partly because of the appaling customer service.

Computers Now had the laptop diagnosed, repaired and back to me in a week. I'm a huge fan now.

I believe to have received a "lemon" macbook black-- 1st gen., purchased with school loan I'll be paying off for the next 10 years. Apple is pretentious if I call them, and is not willing to help me out because I am a college grad student who could not afford the $300 apple care plan.
The battery showed an X over it last year. They sent me a replacement. Now, as I am try to complete my thesis, the new battery also has failed (X--with no amber light on magsafe plug). The unit had RSS (Random system shutdown) when the computer would just turn off. The screen cracked--a little tiny line in the corner at first, then with use, took over the whole screen. No damage from me, it just happened with normal use.
Now, all of my utility files are missing except Adobe. The computer was dead on battery for a week over break when I was out of town and I returned to find those files missing. Unable to play dvds , do firmware updates, charge battery...anything.
As a long time mac user (through high school, college, grad school) and first-time buyer, I am appalled at the service Apple provides.
Through various message boards I have seen the numerous defects that Apple obviously knows about. Disgusting.
Bought Leopard, waiting for Time Capsule to arrive so I can back up and hopefully save the computer.
 Any thoughts, comments, suggestions?
Thanks and sorry for the long post. Lauren

The article solves a similiar problem with the help of the ob_xxxx output buffer functions.
